2019 HR-FM EDUCATION FORUM SCHEDULE
(
Please check back in early 2020 for our 2020 HR-FM Seminar Schedule)

9:00am - 10:00am

Room A
Transitioning from PDM Inspections to CBM Programs
Wayne Vick, CEO/President; Infralogix and Tim Collier, Program Manager; Infralogix
Today's Predictive Maintenance Technologies (i.e. Infrared, Ultrasonic, Vibration Analysis) and associated inspections are rapidly being integrated into Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) Programs.  These enhanced asset "care" strategies are enabling facility/asset owners to further improve equipment reliability and continually reduce overall asset maintenance costs for infrastructure, utility systems and process/production assets.

Room B
Pristine Cooling Water Treatment Systems:
Cooling Towers/Hot Loops/Chilled Loops

Marc Scanlon, Technical Sales Manager; Atlantium Technologies
This seminar will examine how Pristine Cooling Water Treatment Systems can meet the goals of:
   - Lower energy consumption
   - Cleaner heat transfer surfaces
   - 99.99% reduction of Adenovirus for drinking water applications
   - Reduced chemical costs
   - Lower water usage and carbon footprint
   - Biofilm, algae and legionella control

10:15am - 11:15am

Room A
Conquering the EH&S Challenges That All Facility Managers Face
Mark Roman, President; Envision Environmental, Inc.
This forum will review key elements of facility management and how they relate to EH&S issues, including:
   - Clarifying how it is critical that facility managers learn to recognize EH&S blind spots and problem areas
      at their facilities.
   - Identifying how to develop a proactive approach to address EH&S issues that will result in increased
      productivity, profits, and employee safety.
   - Identifying the four core foundations that all facility managers must implement in order to develop a
     robust EH&S program.

Room B
LED Lighting, What you need to know!
E. W. Dovel, VP Public Sector; Orion Energy Systems, Inc.
LED Lighting has improved dramatically in the last 2 years. This session will illustrate the pit falls to watch for when selecting, provide actual S/F projections for building types and provide a glimpse of the future in lighting.

Room C
Loading Dock Data; How to Use it to Improve Loading Dock Efficiency
Mr. Oliver Coleman III, Loading Dock Applications Sales Professional; Southern Material Handling Inc.
Attendees at this session will learn about Loading Dock Data Management Systems now available to monitor and improve loading dock efficiency (like iDock).  Hear specifics on how, once installed, a Loading Dock Data Management System can allow managers to immediately review the analytics of their loading dock activity.  This allows managers to make key decisions to enhance the overall efficiency of the loading dock area.  How many times does a forklift enter a truck to load/unload?  How many trucks per dock per day?  Are our docks efficient?  Do we need to add docks?  All questions a Loading Dock Data Management System (like the iDock Control Package)  can help managers answer.

11:30am - 12:30pm

Room A
Cooling Tower Deficiencies and Solutions
Chris Healey, General Manager; Morin Distribution/The Cooling Tower Store
This educational seminar will provide insight to Cooling Tower Basics and Operational Deficiencies that building and facility maintenance operators typically experience along with updates of new technological advances and solutions that are currently available to recover performance and increase life expectancy of the equipment.

Room B
Photoluminescent Products for Safety, Sustainability, and Savings
Richard J. Martin; Owner, AfterGlow, LLC
The speaker will provide the audience with an introduction to photo-luminescent (PL), or "glow-in-the-dark", egress marking systems as they pertain to building codes for safety, common applications, and cost benefits.  PL products are sustainable and can earn LEED credit for building owners in green building design and construction.

12:45pm - 1:45pm

Room A
Moving Forward On Sustainability Goals: The Role of Facilities Professionals
Donald Thomas, Instructor; Building Operator Certification
Organizations are adopting newer and more aggressive sustainability goals in their operations and few are more important in reaching these goals than those who work in facilities.  This talk will discuss the trends in sustainability, the impacts those trends have had on facilities, and how facilities professionals can prepare themselves to be a leader as these trends go mainstream.

Room B
Introduction to AFE Education; is AFE Certification Right for You?
Speaker TBA; Association for Facilities Engineering (AFE)

Come see what AFE is all about.  Learn how AFE, the Educational Sponsor for HR-FM, can help you grow and advance your company and career through our three certification programs:  Certified Plant Engineer (CBP) / Certified Professional Supervisor (CPS) / Certified Professional Maintenance Manager (CPMM)
