Please Note: Following is our 2024 Seminar Schedule,
Please Check Back in August for the 2025 Schedule.

9:00am - 10:00am

Room A
The Question is "What's it Worth?" Not What's it's Cost?"
E. W. Dovel; VP Public Sector Sales; Orion Energy Systems, Inc.
Facility Managers face tighter budgets, hiring and retainage challenges, and increasing workloads. Technology is supposed to make things seamless and legislation is making legacy systems impossible to maintain. Our favorite, 100% effective maintenance strategy is run to fail. We default to cost as the main evaluation component and it is rarely the best option. This session will illustrate the important attributes that establish value and the importance of life cycle costing. You will also learn a simple technique to evaluate the vendors that will also save you time and money.

Room B
How to Secure Your Building or Facility & Upgrade Your
Technology

Baran Schultz; CEO / Owner; Schultz Technology
This session will educate & remind attendees about the importance of Cybersecurity. We will review numerous stories of building owners & facility managers who assumed nothing would happen since they were small. Then, after they were hacked, wished they had understood the importance & value of their data beforehand. Upgrading vulnerable technology can protect your building's or facility's systems. The question always is, how much is your information and data worth to you?

Room C
Litigation Risk and Reality in Construction Engineering
James Gallagher; Principal; Resolution Construction Management
When a construction project is not up to acceptable standards or is a potentially dangerous environment to entrants, litigation and disputes often arise. James’ talk covers the various legal challenges that he navigates in the construction and engineering fields. He will first introduce the audience to litigation in the context of construction engineering, then will discuss valuable insight, tips, and trends on avoiding, minimizing, or resolving issues that may evolve during the design and construction process. Specifically, James will touch on understanding contracts, navigating regulatory compliance, and pro-active risk management strategies.

10:15am - 11:15am

Room A
The Importance of Concrete Building Inspections and
Maintenance

Blake Tomforde; W2E Sales Engineer; Fabcon Work 2 Existing
This session will point out the importance of having concrete buildings inspected on a regular basis and how to properly maintain these types of buildings. We will discuss what to look for when inspections are done and how to provide proper maintenance and do needed repairs so your buildings will continue to perform as they were designed to.

Room B
Raising the Bottom Line:  Energy-Efficient Systems & Control
Solutions for Decarbonizing Buildings

Marco Correia; Sr. Project Manager / Sr. Mechanical Designer; CoolSys Energy Design
Building owners/managers can minimize the expense of common area heating, air conditioning, and lighting through the use of energy management systems, high-efficiency equipment, and more effective designs. Learn about energy audits, the latest HVAC technologies including electrified heating systems, control strategies, as well as the rebates and incentives available for taking steps toward sustainability. Renewable energy options will also be discussed.

Room C
Onsite Safety and Equipment Operator Compliance

Eric Maynard; Managing Director; Complete Specialty Services, LLC (CSS)

This seminar's mission is to show employers how to qualify, authorize, and certify their employees as safe and professional operators of Aerial Work Platforms (MEWPs), Industrial Trucks (telehandlers & forklifts), Earthmoving Equipment (skid steer & mini excavators), and Material Handling Equipment (manipulators) in accordance with OSHA regulations and ANSI standard requirements.

11:30am - 12:30pm

Room A
Addressing the Environmental, Health & Safety Challenges
Many Facility’s Face

Mark Roman; President; Envision Environmental, Inc.
Management of environmental, health & safety (EH&S) issues are one of the many hats that facility managers must wear each day. This session will outline steps to help facility managers be better prepared to address these many issues. In addition, common EH&S issues and problem areas that exist at many facilities will be identified and viable solutions to address and manage these issues will be reviewed, including how to hunt for invisible environmental gorillas to reduce your facility’s EH&S exposures and liabilities.

Room B

How To Make Permanent Repairs With The Latest In High
Performance Polymer Technology

Kevin Fisher; Manager; ENECON USA
This seminar will discuss how to make permanent repairs with the latest in polymer technology. Kevin will show how many industries (Factories, Schools, Hospitals, US Military, Pharma…) make permanent repairs to many types of surfaces (concrete, cooling towers, air handlers, heat exchangers, leaking pipes, floors, pumps, corrosion…).

Room C
Machinery Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (MFMEA) in
Manufacturing

A.J. Speicher, Industrial Department Leader; Seth Kunkel, Reliability Engineer; Verdantas
Machinery Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (MFMEA) is a systematic approach used to identify risks associated with machinery and equipment failure. In this abstract, we will explore what MFMEA is, why it is crucial for reliability, and how it contributes to reducing lifecycle costs and improving return on investment (ROI).

12:45pm - 1:45pm
